The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful. (Baqara, 2:185)
As the natural laws are necessary for the order of the universe; also, the divine religions are essential for the order and the peace of the human being. Physical and spiritual peace and order are certain needs for a peaceful life. A divine religion sent to humanity, along with providing this order, also maintains the communication between the servant and the Creator. In other words, divine religion is essential for the order of both personal and social life.
The subjects that we are passionately focusing on such as earthquakes, floods, tornados, hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, contagious diseases and landslides… Physical harm and loss… Some lose their houses, friends, parents and some die and lose everything belonging to this world. Each breath of each person in this world is so precious that we are giving a great struggle against all these calamities to protect ourselves, friends and belongings. Don’t we forget something?
Spending the whole energy, time and sources on this side, and focusing only on the materialistic part prevented us seeing the most terrible earthquakes, corruptions and diseases happening in our way of living, culture, behavior and personalities. Honor, love, patience, mercy and help left their place to agony, hatred, cruelty and egoism.
Moreover, the reasons of earthly disasters are what we do again. We all know that and most of the times it is us damaging the world with the products that we use and nuclear trials that we are making on different parts of this world and they are the outcomes we deserve as a result of our wrongdoings. We know what we are going to face in the near future if we keep on doing what we are doing now. All the parents are now in a great worry about the future of their children thinking that if they are lucky enough to have the same conditions of environment and so on.
But in fact, the matters we need to care more and discuss more are not only our lovely materialistic world but also the inner world of ours which requires more maintenance. Can we see and realize that we are becoming the slaves of our nafs and worldly desires which are presented on golden plates? Advocates of evil and evil commanding souls working demandingly to make all the immorality flow through the veins of ours, our friends’, parents’ and children’s. Are we also deeply concerned about the future of our spiritual being which is full of immoralities and corruptions? There is a fire burning a lot bigger than any fire ever in the world history.
A scholar of our time is standing strong against this fire and saying “They ask me: why have you provoked so-and-so? I wasn’t aware of it. There is a great conflagration before me; the flames are touching the skies. My children are burning it in; my belief too has caught fire and is burning. I am racing to put out the fire, to save my belief. If someone wants to hinder me on the way and I trip on him, what importance has it? Does such a petty incident have importance in the face of that terrible fire? Narrow minds, narrow views… I have sacrificed even my life in the hereafter to save the community’s religious belief. “.
His appeal is for the humankind because of their not being aware of following such an harmful way and what they are doing. In this concept, preventing moral corruption and earthquakes in our hearts and minds can only be possible with a living in the way how religion teach us. Because religion is the life and soul of society, light of happiness, peace of conscience, guide of mankind, provider of the improvement of mind and reason and precise just and virtue. The religion is Divine and for all mankind which is Islam.
Since the Creator of the man and the universe is Allah (swt), of course Allah’s (swt) laws are essential both for the universe and the man. For instance; in order to operate a device properly and not to without damaging it, an instruction manual prepared by its engineer must be obeyed. Because the one having the knowledge of that device for the best is the one who produced it. Allah (swt) provided the rules needed by the humanity through the divine religions.
As a conclusion, people should turn their faces towards truth. Inner struggle will bring international peace. Blind rejections against the light of truth will never get the ultimate wisdom.
